Let's all attend to provide medical aid to Gaza, and as an opportunity for us all as concerned healthcare workers to come together in person to meet and discuss how else we can best support each other, and our Palestinian brothers and sisters.
DATE: Sat Dec 23, 2023
TIME: 10 AM - 1:30 PM
VENUE: Dominion Ballroom, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen St West

Healing Lives, Rebuilding Hope is a program organized by concerned healthcare professionals from various faiths and backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to humanity. Through this program, we hope to address the urgent medical needs of Gaza and educate the global community about the challenges faced by the people of Gaza and the pressing need for humanitarian assistance.
3 KEY OBJECTIVES:
1. Awareness: Raise awareness by highlighting the current situation in Gaza, the challenges faced by its people, and the urgent need for medical and humanitarian aid.
2. Urgent Medical Relief: Provide essential medical supplies, equipment, and healthcare services to hospitals and clinics in Gaza to address the immediate healthcare needs of the population. Engage with both local and international organizations to advocate for increased support, medical aid, and on-the-ground efforts to improve living conditions and access to healthcare in Gaza.
3. Collaborative Partnerships: Forge partnerships with local NGOs, healthcare professionals, media outlets, and educational institutions to amplify the reach and impact.
Every year, MMAC participates in FIMA's Lifesavers event - an annual event across over 20 countries, where Muslim healthcare professionals teach Muslim community members key lifesaving skills at their local mosque.
We know that 80% of cardiac arrests occur in the home, and empowering community members with lifesaving skills like CPR, how to use a defibrillator, and responding to medical emergencies can help save lives until professional help arrives.
We are actively recruiting MMAC staff physicians and trainees to help teach at stations, and medical students to assist with the event. Volunteering just a few hours of your time will make a tremendous difference to health outcomes! Trainers do NOT need to be formal ACLS certified trainers, as this course is for bystander CPR and other skills, not for official CPR certification purposes.
