Are you starting residency or fellowship at the University of Alberta? Join the MMAC U of A PGME Chapter for our inaugural Welcome Meet & Greet!

This event is designed to help incoming and current residents and fellows connect with one another, build community, and ease the transition into training in Edmonton and Alberta. Whether you're new to Edmonton, new to residency, or simply looking to expand your network, we invite you to join us for an evening of conversation, mentorship, and connection with current residents and practicing physicians.

Have questions about navigating life in Alberta? Wondering where to find halal food, prayer spaces, study spots, or how to navigate the Alberta healthcare system? This is a great opportunity to ask questions, learn from those who have gone through the same transition, and build meaningful relationships within the Muslim medical community.

A complimentary iftar box will be provided to all registered attendees.

Meet the Specialist Series: Surgery (06 July 2026)

Join MMAC for an engaging session in our Meet the Specialist Series, aimed at helping medical students explore different specialties and career paths in medicine.

This session will feature a panel of surgeons (both staff and trainees) who will share their experiences, discuss the realities of training and clinical practice, and provide insight into pursuing a career in Surgery.

Whether you are considering Surgery or simply interested in learning more about the field, this is a valuable opportunity to connect with professionals and ask questions directly.

* Learn about the training pathway for Surgery

* Explore lifestyle factors and subspecialty opportunities within the field

* Hear perspectives from practicing surgeons and residents about their experiences

* Participate in a live Q&A and engage with specialists in the field
